Privacy
Last updated 18 September 2026
This is what we hold about you, why, and what we never do with it.
What we hold
- If you own the Yoto account: a Yoto identifier and the sign-in tokens Yoto gives us, so we can write to your library on your behalf. Not your Yoto password — we never see it.
- If you were invited: your email address, so you can sign in, and the name the person who invited you gave you.
- For everyone: the name you choose to be called, your time zone, and a record of which messages you recorded and when.
Where the recordings are
In the Yoto library of the person who owns the account, handled under Yoto's privacy policy. We keep a reference to each recording so we know which slot it sits in; we do not keep a second copy of the audio.
What we never do
- Sell or share your details with anyone, for any reason.
- Show anyone's email address to anyone but the person who invited them.
- Use recordings for anything other than putting them on the tape you chose.
- Delete a tape or a message unless its owner asks.
Payments
Card details go to Paddle, our payment provider, and never to us. We hold only what Paddle tells us about the state of a subscription.
Leaving
An invited person can leave a tape at any time from the tape's screen. An account owner can delete a tape, which removes it from their Yoto library too. Either way, ask and we will remove what we hold about you.
